Buduruvagla
The biggest Buddha statue hewn out of single rock .It stands at 50 feet. This statue belonged to the followers of the Mhamaya school of Buddhism. This statue was built by king walagamba



Unawtuna beach
A curving bay with beautiful picturesque view of the popular narrow golden beach. Travelers can enjoy a safe swimming here due to pool nature built by the reef inside beach .  






 
Dambulla Rock temple
Dating back to the first century BC this is the most impressive cave temple in Srilanka. It has five caves under a overhanging rock caved with a drip line to keep the interiors dry . There are images of Buddha and the bodhisattvas . The caves were built at the base of a 150m high rock during periods of  Anuradapura and plonnaruwa kingdoms.


 
ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE
An orphanage for elephants has been set up at pinnawela 56 miles (90km) from Colombo by the department of national zoological gardens . several animals bought  here at its inception in 1975 are now mature  enough for breeding which is the ultimate aim of  institution.

Sigiriya
 Sigiriya rock was a royal citadel for nearly twenty years. This great exciting site is nearly one hectare in extent. The rock fortress was built by king kashyapa
